The bowls section is open to all members of the Golf Club without any extra charge.

During the summer we play Crown Green Bowls on the Club’s green, both socially and competitively in three different Leagues. Matches normally take place on Monday and Thursday afternoons and on Tuesday evenings. The full fixture list can be found here, or by use of the menu on the left of every page.

Wednesday afternoons are when we have our regular practice sessions. We are always happy to welcome new players, whether experienced or not. Just come along on a Wednesday afternoon, between about 2.00 and 4.00, or contact one of the executive sub-committee whose names are shown on both the notice-board and here.

The green is always available for informal practice or games when no matches or formal practice sessions are scheduled, apart from Monday mornings, when it is used by the Matlock Area U3A’s Bowls Group. Full details of the currently scheduled activities on the green can be found here. Note that a dress code applies at all times when using the green.  No more than four jacks may be on the green at any one time.

During the winter months we play short-mat indoor bowls on Monday evenings in the lounge in the main club-house. Once again, any member of the Golf Club is most welcome to join us there.
